UNESCO A World of Science

Articles in A World of Science published by UNESCO brings frontline research to the global public, especially secondary students. The two articles available were written by geoscientist Prof. Patricia Vickers-Rich and her collegues about the changing environmetnal, fauna and flora over the past 3 billion years. The first article relates directly to a research program called IGCP493 (a UNESCO funded project) exploring the beginning of animals. Fossils that tell this story come from west Africa, Newfoundland, Australia and Russia. Reconstruction artist Peter Trusler of Melbourne has brought this research to "life" with his paintings of times past.
